Relay for Life is an international movement involving over 4 million people across more than 20 countries, which every year raises crucial money and awareness for the American Cancer Society, to save the lives of people faced with cancer. The organisation gives patients, carers and their loved ones the opportunity to join together through Relay For Life events and reinforce our will to fight cancer together.
What is a Relay For Life event?
A Relay For Life event is a night of food, activities, and games for family and friends, building communal spirit and support in the face of cancer. Everyone walks around a track to the cheers of others to prove that no matter what hardships we are faced with, together we can push through; celebrate, remember and fight back. Hope Lodge facilities provide a free and secure environment for the patient and carer to work in close contact with specialists. Even after the initial treatment, the road to recovery can be long, and without your donations, a real struggle. The Road to Recovery provides specialized transportation to ease the unnecessary strains of everyday life that patients would otherwise have to face.
Cancer can also take away confidence in how a patient looks and feels after their treatment, despite their amazing achievement. Look Good...Feel Better teaches beauty techniques and provides support to bring back the glow of life with the help of professional services, such as makeup techniques, nail and skin care, and options relating to hair loss.
